What to Expect in our Yoga/Barre Fusion masterclass
A hybrid style that blends traditional yoga with functional movement, mobility, and barre. Suzanne has been teaching yoga since 2004 and went on to train in barre in 2012. Suzanne was trained by Emma Newham of BarreConcept and Pilates Union UK.
This masterclass will use yoga blocks, barre moves, pilates balls and "non-traditional" yoga postures. All done to high tempo upbeat music
Barre is a fitness method that fuses ballet, yoga, Pilates, and strength training into a low-impact, full-body workout. It focuses on isometric movements, high repetitions, and small controlled motions to tone muscles, improve posture, increase flexibility, and build core strength. Barre is designed to be accessible to all fitness levels while creating lean, sculpted muscles similar to a dancer’s physique.
Exercises include planks and lunges etc to challenge balance, coordination, muscular endurance, and flexibility .
Class concludes with a yoga wind down and relaxation—a deeply valued component to help you leave feeling grounded and relaxed.

About Suzanne Kenny - Your instructor...
From a young age, Suzanne was always into sports, movement and the outdoors. From horseriding, camogie, irish dancing, ballet, speech and drama, swimming to piano - she was always very active and interested in learning new things. After doing an Arts Degree in UCD with an honours degree in Geography and Archaelogy - Suzanne still didnt know what she wanted to do with her life career wise. It was actually the stress of doing her finals in college that lead her to finding yoga. Initially in the early 2000s in Ireland, there wasnt alot of options in terms of yoga studios. Her sister Marita gifted her a course of yoga in a local community centre when she was doing her exams and it was then that she was hooked! This lead to Suzanne enrolling in a 2 year 500hour teacher training programme with Yoga Therapy Ireland in 2004. Once this was completed Suzanne began teaching in local gym and community centres.
It was in 2011 that Suzanne went on to train in Antigravity Aerial Yoga with the creator of aerial yoga, Christopher Harrison. She was straight away obsessed with this unique fusion of aerial arts, yoga, pilates, sports conditioning, calesthenics, dance. As a result, Suzanne went on the open Yoga4all in 2011 in Airside Retail Park, Swords Dublin. Not only was it the first yoga studio in North County Dublin, but it was the first and only studio in Dublin to offer Aerial Yoga. As a result, Suzanne and Yoga4all were featured nationwide both on TV and in numerous newspapers and magazines throughout Ireland.
Now 20 years later and since moving to the Wicklow Mountains herself in 2023, Suzanne teaches outside of Swords also. Suzanne is excited to collab with Sophie and share her love of teaching in Wicklow at Anam Kara wellness with classes, workshops and retreats. Plenty of exciting events are being planned for the coming weeks and months!
