Transylvania Adventure Retreat May 2027 — Mountains, Legends & Thermal Bliss

But first!
Our flight lands in the evening (due to the time difference) on Wednesday the 26th of May, so our adventure will begin with an easy stress-free night at the 4-star Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest. Situated just a stone’s throw from the terminal, it is the ultimate arrival spot for us considering where we plan on going the following day, ready to dive straight into the fun...literally!
The hotel features modern, spacious, and completely soundproofed rooms so after a restful night's sleep and a delicious breakfast the following morning, we will head just 6km down the road to Therme Bucharest!
As Europe’s largest indoor wellness and thermal spa complex, this tropical oasis is guaranteed to be one of the highlights of our trip!
Opened in 2016, Therme is an incredible indoor and outdoor tropical paradise built around geothermal thermal waters, surrounded by thousands of plants, huge glass domes, themed saunas, relaxation areas, pools and waterslides.
We will have the chance to experience its three spectacular worlds:
Galaxy — For those looking for a little more adrenaline, with high-speed water slides, a wave pool and plenty of space to play and relax.
The Palm — A 14+ tropical oasis beneath a huge glass dome, surrounded by more than 1,500 palm trees, mineral pools and swim-up bars.
Elysium — The ultimate adults-only wellness experience, with beautifully themed saunas and steam rooms, relaxation areas including a cinema sauna! This will be the perfect way to unwind, soak, sweat, swim and completely switch off before we journey on to the Carpathian Mountains!
Once we have spent a few hours in Therme, its then time to journey into the spectacular Carpathian Mountains and make our way to Bran for 3 nights — a magical mountain town steeped in history, folklore and the legends of Dracula.
Nestled between the Piatra Craiului and Bucegi Mountains, Bran is the gateway between Transylvania and Wallachia and home to the iconic Bran Castle, famously associated with the legend of Count Dracula. Surrounded by forests and soaring peaks, it's the perfect setting for our mountain escape.

For three nights, we'll stay at the stunning Carpathian Log Chalets, an incredible pair of beautifully designed wooden chalets tucked into the forest on the outskirts of Bran, with spectacular views across the surrounding mountains.
Each chalet has five ensuite bedrooms, huge cathedral-ceilinged living spaces with roaring fireplaces and floor-to-ceiling glass walls overlooking the landscape, fully equipped gourmet kitchens, and our own sauna and jacuzzi.
Think cosy evenings by the fire, mountain air, incredible scenery and plenty of time to relax, do yoga and enjoy the adventure.
Our time in Transylvania will be packed with experiences — from exploring the legendary Bran Castle and discovering the surrounding mountains and forests, to adventure, relaxation, great food and simply soaking up the atmosphere of this extraordinary part of the world.
While we are in Bran, The Transylvania 100 race will be on the 29th of May. This is widely known as one of the wildest and most brutal mountain ultramarathons in Europe that starts and ends in Bran. To kick off the madness, a man dressed as Vlad the Impaler bangs a massive gong to officially release the runners into the wild!
Runners will be scaling the Bucegi Mountains, tackling vertical climbs so steep they have to pull themselves up using cables and ropes. They are running deep into the Carpathian Mountains which are home to Europe's densest population of brown bears. Runners frequently hallucinate from sleep deprivation, mistaking fallen logs and ordinary bushes for predators in the dead of night!
Thousands of people will be visiting Bran for this event so the town will be buzzing all weekend! If your a runner and fancy doing the race, let me know and we can arrange - Race Distances range from 20km to 100km

Race entry fee is you wanted to do one of the Transylvania races on May 29th in Bran (You would need to properly train for this - All distances are very steep & difficult!)
* The rooms in our Chalets are double beds only so you can choose to either share a room and a bed with your lover or bestie or have your own room with a double bed to yourself - no twin bed option. Possible to have seperate duvets in the double beds but beds cant be seperated.
